Who we are
Nakshatra ("we", "us", "the app") provides astrology and palmistry content for entertainment and self-reflection. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and password. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and is never stored by us in plain text.
- Birth details — the date, time (if you provide it), and place of birth you enter, used only to calculate your birth chart.
- Palm reading answers — your responses to the palmistry questionnaire. If you use the photo-assisted option, the photo is analyzed on your own device only — it is never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
- Content you create — messages sent through the in-app astrologer chat, community posts and likes, and gift messages.
- Purchase records — which tier you bought or were gifted, and the payment method selected.
How we use this information
- To calculate and display your birth chart, horoscope, palm reading, compatibility, and other reports.
- To let you sign back in and see your saved chart and reports on any device.
- To operate features you choose to use, like gifting a report to someone else or posting to the community feed.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train AI models — every piece of astrology and palmistry content in this app comes from fixed calculation and content rules, not from an AI reading your personal data.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored with our database provider, Supabase, behind access controls (Row Level Security) that stop any other app account from reading or writing your rows in the database. Your login session is kept in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in between visits.
Third parties
We currently share data with Supabase as part of running the app's backend. If and when real payments are enabled, a payment gateway will process the payment details needed to complete a purchase — we do not handle or store your card or bank details ourselves.
Your choices
- You can update your birth details at any time by re-entering them.
- You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete My Account. This cannot be undone.
- You can contact us with any privacy question or request at the address below.
Children's privacy
Nakshatra is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.

1. Entertainment purposes only
Nakshatra provides astrology, palmistry, and related content for entertainment and self-reflection. It is not professional advice of any kind — medical, legal, financial, or psychological — and should not be used as a substitute for it. Sun, Moon, and Ascendant placements are computed from real astronomical data using the traditional Vedic (sidereal, Lahiri ayanamsa) system; the interpretive text is generated from fixed content rules, not written by a human astrologer or an AI.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Please use a real email address you control, since it's how you sign back in. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use the app to harass others, post illegal or abusive content in the community feed or chat, attempt to access another user's data, or interfere with the app's normal operation.
4. The astrologer chat feature
The "chat with an astrologer" feature is simulated: replies are selected from pre-written, rule-based responses. They are not generated by a real person or by an AI system, and are not written specifically for you.
5. Purchases and gifting
Where a report tier requires payment, pricing and refund terms will be presented to you at checkout before you pay. Gift codes you send can be redeemed once by their recipient, and cannot be redeemed by the account that sent them.
6. Community content
Posts and captions you share to the community feed are visible to other signed-in users. Don't share anything there you wouldn't want other users to see, and don't post anyone else's personal information without their consent.
7. Intellectual property
The app's design, calculations, and content rules belong to us. You keep ownership of what you personally write, such as chat messages or captions — but by posting to the community feed, you allow other users to view it within the app.
8. Disclaimer & limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any astrology or palmistry content, and we are not liable for decisions you make based on it. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
